Kirkridge Presbyterian Church, appropriately named as the "church on the ridge," has been serving northern Carroll County, Maryland and southeastern Pennsylvania as a beacon of the gospel of Jesus Christ for many years. The church is a member of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian denomination, (ARP), which is a conservative, evangelical Presbyterian denomination committed to the historic, orthodox doctrines expounded in the Westminister Standards ie. The Westminster Confession of Faith, The Westminster Larger Catechism, The Westminster Shorter Catechism and the Directory of Public Worship.
As a local church and body of believers, Kirkridge is committed to being:
Grounded in the Scriptures.
Growing in Christ Jesus.
Cultivating a Joyful, Cross-shaped* Community.
*Just as the cross has multiple dimensions so our community has multiple dimensions. The upper vertical dimension of the cross-shaped community is worship. Our church is devoted to worship. The lower vertical dimension of the cross-shaped community is stewardship. The one side of the horizontal dimension is characterized by nurture and the other side of the horizontal dimension is characterized by missions. Two dimensions which are not readily apparent include our connections to the past and our mission into the future. In the center of the cross, the junction which holds everything together, is Union with Christ. For the Apostle Paul, having a relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ the Son was and is the pinnacle of human experience. We don't have anything if we don't have relationship in Christ.

History
Kirkridge Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church was founded in 1938. It was originally called Roller Presbyterian Church US, named for the community of Roller where the church was located. The original stone building was owned by charter members, Fred and Polly Yelton.
There were 16 charter members, most of whom had relocated to Carroll County from Mitchell County, North Carolina. 44 people attended the first service in the spring of 1938. Rev. Edward Beall, Pastor of Springfield Presbyterian Church preached at the church on Sunday afternoons. Attendance continued to grow and in April 1940, a petition was presented to the Potomac Presbytery to formally recognize the church.
The church purchased a new home from the Board of Education for $250 in 1940. This building still stands on property owned by River Valley Ranch.
The church continued to meet at this site until 1961 when land for a new building was purchased. It took several years to finish construction on the new building.
In June 1986, planning began on an addition to the original church building. The new sanctuary and Sunday school rooms were completed and dedicated on October 27, 1996. The new sanctuary is handicapped accessible with a lift installed. Several additions and refinements have been made since 1996 including a new organ, new sound system, and new pews.
The Reverend Steven Badorf is the church’s current pastor.
